Summer Lawn Treatments

We are currently applying a granular fertilizer, with 50% slow release nitrogen that will not burn the turf, and allows a gradual release of nutrients to keep your lawn healthy and green during the hot, dry summers. With this lawn treatment, we will use post-emergent herbicides to control broadleaf weeds, or grassy weeds like crab grass, dallis grass, or Johnson grass. Also, control for nut grass or sedge is applied at this time.

As the summer time temperatures increase and the rainfall decreases, make sure your lawn gets enough water to stay green and healthy. Basically your lawn needs about 1 ½ inches of water per week. It’s best to irrigate and soak your lawn twice per week, than to water a little bit every day. Check your irrigation system to make sure all sprinkler heads are working and getting ample coverage. Fire Ant Control
