Some homeowners may think they can save money by doing their own lawncare by applying fertilizers and herbicides. If you really put a pencil to it, you’ll see that you really don’t save much at all, and in many cases, you’ll even spend more!
Just complete the Lawncare Calculator (tm) below by inputing information on you and your lawn, and you’ll receive a true cost of the “do-it’yourself” method compared with using the professionals at LawnAmerica for your lawncare needs.
Simply input the following information into the boxes on the Lawncare Calculator:
1. Measure your lawn to the nearest 500’ and enter to the right. For example, if your actual turf area measures 6,900’, enter in 7000. (no comma) 2. Enter the 1-way mileage/distance to the local garden center or box store to purchase fertilizers and chemicals. The lawncare calculator will factor in drive time and auto expense. 3. Enter your hourly rate at your job or If you could gain more free time, enter the dollar value would you give that value. This is an important factor for many homeowners—the value of their free time! What would you pay to get back more hours to spend time doing other things that you really enjoy, or that are more valuable to you? The lawncare calculator takes your hourly rate and estimates how long it will take a typical homeowner to treat their lawn 6 times per year. $ 4. Do you have a good spreader and backpack sprayer? If not, enter in about $55 or so for a cheap spreader, and $85 for a decent backpack sprayer. And remember, they rust, wear out, get run over by your teenage driver, and take up room in your garage. $ $ Of course, we are glad to come out to measure your lawn and give you an exact price, but this should be pretty close. $
